Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2024
This policy explains what data BlokQR collects, how it is used, and the choices available. BlokQR is a QR code generator operated as an independent project by Manzar Haq. Using a QR code generator should not cost you your privacy.
Who this applies to
The free tier requires no account. QR codes are generated in the browser and are not tied to an identity. An account is only created when a visitor subscribes to Pro.
Data collected
- Account data (Pro only): email address, display name, and authentication provider.
- Saved QR codes (Pro only): the content, styling, and preview image of codes saved to a library.
- Scan analytics (dynamic codes): aggregate scan counts, coarse device type, and approximate country derived from a request header. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
- Payment data: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never received or stored by BlokQR.
How data is used
Data is used to provide the service: authenticating Pro users, storing saved codes, redirecting dynamic codes, and reporting scan analytics. Data is not sold, rented, or used for advertising.
Third-party services
BlokQR relies on trusted third-party providers for authentication, data storage, hosting, and payments (Stripe). Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
Account data and saved codes are retained while a Pro account is active. Cancelling a subscription keeps saved codes in read-only form. To delete an account and its associated data, contact the address below.
Your choices
The free tier can be used without providing any personal data. Pro users may cancel at any time through the billing portal and request deletion of their data.
